All I know is that I go to a Lidl on the other side of Combourg from Hyper U!!! I wouldn't want to walk from one to the other! There is a new supermarket on that estate but you can't see it from Lidl, I only know there was one being built from going to the health food shop which is up the other end of the ZI (last time before Xmas).

That was interesting - went from grafitti to dairy farmers protesting, then madame which meant brothels and onto Lidl and health food shops and a few bums thrown in along the way. happy01

Hyper-U to Intermarche................500 metres at best, 90 seconds in a car! if ya can't walk that! and ya drive past Inter to get to ya health shop and Lidl, which is virtually opposite. Do you actually look where HUSBAND is going? Look on Google Earth.

And what was Jackie saying about only men like to argue?

You go a different way, we don't go past the health food shop which is up the other end which was still being built last time we were up there. The ZI is only a bulldozed site on Google Earth and it's right on the edge of town next to fields, which is 'the other side of town', not 'behind' Hyper U!!! You ask my husband because we're always annoyed that it isn't close by and we have to drive through Combourg to get there (unlike at Melesse).

When Breton farmers use the initials VPF it usually means "Viande de Porc Français", and the initials EMB for "European Milk Board". €1,40 sounds about the price they are looking for at the main pig markets for live-weight pigs.
(see Ouest France article, http://www.ouest-france.fr/region/breta ... 2_actu.Htm )

Could this grafitti indicate that milk producers and pig breeders are making common cause? If so, we are in for interesting times after 'la rentrée'!

Thanks for the explanation of the initials Stavros which I asked about earlier but got no answer. Finger02

Yes, we'd all noticed! Confused

Mandy, ya tell me to start a thread (which I do) and then rather than disscussing the issues you chose to turn it into a geography argument!
And people don't post on here why?

Sometimes I miss the old "STAY ON TOPIC" messages;

I didn't, you did! It takes two to tango you know! You're the one who is presuming to tell me where I go and what I see when I don't go even go past there and when I asked you ON TOPIC right at the beginning, what the graffiti meant you ignored me, so I could hardly discuss 'the issues' could I?

People do post on here always have done and always will, it's just you who doesn't like what anyone else talks about. Rolling Eyes

Mandy I am so sorry, I owe you an appology sad01
Just did a Michelin Route check and it is 900 meters and estimated time in a car 1 minute! Embarassed I was soooooooooo wrong! Neutral

Off to slash a wrist, I shall, as it's 'just me' that doesn't post/like/enjoy what is on here, leave you and the other 640 odd "active members" to enjoy your sunday!

Ashamed of Combourg! evil

PS: When ya leave Hyper U next you might leave by the petrol station/Weldom enterance, turn left, left at 1st round about, turn 1st right, follow road, 900m to the 'other side of town' Intermarche, which, geographicaly, IS BEHINDE HYPER-U happy01 car01

And sorry, I thought ya were taking the micky out of my French when you said you didn't know what the letters meant. I assumed as your French is 'far better' than mine ya knew already.

That happened at a place called Pont Melvez in dept 22 some years back and back in 91 I remember seeing brits out painted nearby to Plestin les Grêves but OH reckoned it was to do with the Irish problem and of course, many here are sympa.

The graffiti at Pont Melvez and all points from especially at Bourbriac and up towards St Brieuc was done by a ..........Brit. He was well known for his artistic performances.
Doesn't anyone rememember the big anti (supposedly) outburst in and around Bourbriac about four five years ago? Which was the reason Radio 4 did a Today program from Boubriac that Jiggley puff, Penguin, Teebee and mr and Mrs Kerdrain went to and Mrs K got her 15 minutes of fame by being interviewed by John Humphries on R4 about why she came to France to live. The Mayor of Bourbriac said that there was no ill feeling towards the Brits and they were pleased that the Brits had choosen to live in the area as they had done nothing but good!!
